Ashcroft Plant was established in 1994 by our Managing Director Chris Ashcroft and incorporated in 1999. Initially the business offered plant hire and civil engineering sub contract services. The company has steadily grown since then and has developed its operations to include plant hire, civil engineering, construction, maintenance and demolition services with a turnover in excess of £10m.
We employ over 100 skilled site operatives, plant operators and tradesmen qualified in groundwork, joinery, brickwork and plumbing. We also employ demolition and crushing operatives, HGV/plant mechanics and apprentices in joinery, brickwork and HGV/plant maintenance.
Our operatives are supported by an experienced site management, setting out and civil engineering team, with back office staff including estimators, surveyors, buyers and our admin team who provide essential business services from our head office facility. Collectively the business employs 120 staff.
Whilst providing plant hire and subcontract services we also tender for main contract projects and principal contractor roles. Our client base includes public sector, local authorities, retail clients and private developers and customers.
We predominantly work in Cumbria, the North of England and South West Scotland although we have completed project's in the central belt of Scotland and as far South as Preston. If you have a specific scheme you would like to discuss, please contact our head office to organise a meeting with the team.
We currently employ 3 apprentices who are working though their NVQ Course based at Lakes College in Lillyhall, West Cumbria in Joinery, Plant Fitting and Bricklaying. They are part of our commitment for the workforce of our future. We will soon be recruiting for the next academic year.
